I see adults and adolescents who know that real change starts by going inside and by going deeper. You’re somebody who’s ready to dig into things rather than seek surface solutions, who wants a place to be open and honest about all the parts of youself.
You might identify with one or more of these experiences:
You’re noticing that your reactivity is getting in the way of the meaningful connections you want to have.
You’re facing complex grief — the loss of a child, an identity, or a sibling to suicide — or you feel “stuck” in mourning.
You constantly feel like you’re never enough, no matter how much you accomplish, how good you are, or how much you sacrifice for others.
You identify as having depression, anxiety, or trauma.
You want a nonjudgmental place to explore your sexuality or gender.
You feel stuck in life or your career.
You have experienced childhood sexual assault.
You’re the first in your family to go to college or have a white-collar job, and you feel like an imposter.
You’ve been grinding at life for so long that you feel all ground down.
You keep hearing that it’s good to express your feelings, but you don’t really know what you’re feeling or how to put that into words
I’m a clinical psychologist who believes it takes more than just behavior change for life to change. I offer trauma-informed care through evidence-based psychodynamic psychotherapy. This type of therapy lets us look past the easy-to-see symptoms to help people understand themselves more deeply so they can have more choice about how to think, feel, and react.
My path here took me through the agricultural fields of the Salinas Valley, the Peace Corps in Zambia, and social work in San Francisco. I’m a California native and have been an avid cyclist for over 20 years.
